Abstract
With more than 250,000 users, the graphical debugger DDD is a widespread
software visualization tool. Besides the usual debugger features,
DDD allows visualizing data structures from the running program.
DDD can visualize pointer structures (such as lists or trees) as
graphs, but also numerical arrays as two- or three-dimensional plots
- and animate it all during the program run. In this paper, we describe
the visualization techniques, the layout methods used as well as
the animation of algorithms.
